This 1978, award-winning martial arts action-drama is one of my favorite movies, and I showed it to my spiritual Masters. As a martial artist, I appreciate the effort required to become a Shaolin monk. The discipline of the body and mind fascinates me. Thank God we have an easier option to reach the same mental state: practicing yoga. Those who want to reach this state realize the value of being free from the slavery of the body and mind. It seems hard in the beginning, but the fruit born of that labor is worth it. We appreciate the Masters, who motivate us when we are ready to give up. Sometimes we wonder, what we have to go through to become one with God. When we get to that point, we find that all the pain, focus, devotion, and discipline are well worth it. — Satish Daryanani
