My spiritual Masters would say, “If you want to change, make sure you do so by the age of 40. Till then our minds are like branches—they can bend. After that,  they are like tree trunks. They have to be chopped off. So there is more pain.” There is still some hope for those above the age of 40. As we get older, we get more and more set in our ways and it takes a lot of willpower for complete change to take place. We have defined and imprisoned ourselves with our thinking. As the flexibility of the body reduces, so does the flexibility of the mind. Keeping the mind young does not mean being childish. Instead, be like a child, always see the wonder of life and utter the word, “wonderful, wonderful.” Satish Daryanani
