It does not matter if you are rich, poor, educated, powerful, a seeker, or a saint. It is how you write a letter to God that is important. Our prayers are like letters. It is not important that the letter reaches the Lord. What is important is if we get a response. Our ability to write the letter brings us a response. If we get a good response, that is wonderful. If we get a bad response, it is even better, as it becomes a warning for us. God can tell us if we are going in the wrong direction, but we are still free to do what we choose. We can also send love letters to the Lord, where the pain of longing we feel is far less than the pain of the One who has to read the letter.
