April 25

As you send your prayers to a sick person, you can think, “Get well,” but you are not asking God to make the person well. You are simply sending your good thoughts to the one in need. Thought forces are very powerful. They will go and help the person. Your good thoughts, your wishful thinking, will travel to his or her heart.

You can use any words that are meaningful to you. We often use the Maha Mritunjaya mantra. It isn’t even asking for someone to be healed; rather it says, “May you rise above these mortal limitations.” It’s a good, positive thought you are sending. That way he or she is benefited by your good thoughts, and you are also benefited because you are showing your love. The more you show love and concern to other people, the purer your heart becomes.
