As soon as we see darkness, our eyelids are lowered. Our dream world slowly begins. That is why movie theaters make the hall dark, so we can get lost in the movie. If the lights were on, the movie will not have the same dramatic effect. In our so-called awakened world, we are consumed by the anxieties of the past and the imaginations of the future. We enjoy the dream world the most, as we are experiencing it in the present. We forget everything if the movie is gripping. Indirectly, dark rooms make us forget ourselves. Living with ourselves is the hardest thing to do. We bring along a lot of baggage containing what we think we are. Let’s learn to live in a dark room watching the divine movie within us, and enjoy that it is just a movie for our entertainment.— Satish Daryanani
