We think we work hard and deserve promotions or raises. We serve others and do good, so we feel we deserve to go to heaven. We pray a lot, so we think we deserve having our prayers answered. What does a person deserve, who is lazy, selfish, egoistic, impatient, angry, and a slave of his senses? Nothing, yet, God gives everything to such a person. There is no logic in God’s Grace. So whatever comes is beyond expectations. Good people feel life is sometimes unjust, while useless people, like me, feel that life is more than fair: no complaints as to what comes.
