Today is Independence Day in the USA. We have to wear masks when we go out, the beaches are closed, and we cannot visit many places. There will be no big fireworks show this Independence Day. The lesson for us to learn is, “Let us be independent not from a nation that ruled us, but from our biggest enemy, which is the “I.” Then, we can celebrate daily with internal fireworks, be free as a dry leaf floating in the air, free from the bondage of desires and attachments. We will also be free from too many choices and social pressure and we will enjoy independence from ignorance. So let 2020 be the independence from what you were before the Coronavirus came in your life. — Satish Daryanani
