There are many soldiers questioning their sacrifice in Afghanistan. Those who worked to help Haiti recover after the first earthquake in 2010 now have to go through it all over again. We feel our lives are like writing our names in the sand and the next wave can erase it—like we never existed. We are nothing, doing nothing, achieving nothing, nothing is happening, and nothing will change. It is between all this nothingness that we will realize everything. Understanding we have no value make us humble, as we now know our true purpose. To make our lives worth living is by seeing the insignificance of our being. Our sweat, blood and tears cannot change what is going to happen. When we do our best it is only so we feel good. Your life will be worth living when you know that you rejoiced in all that happens to you. Satish Daryanani
