While training in martial arts, I used to go crazy and take out all my frustrations on the punching bag. My teacher told me that the bag does not hit back and so I should work on defensive techniques and not just offensive. In life, our strengths are demonstrated by what we can bear, not what we dish out. Many pray to reduce their loads, rather than praying for shoulders strong enough to carry the loads. If you see, our bodies are made to defend: We all blink to save our eyes, our immune systems help us prevent virus and bacteria. Even a vaccine is created for preventing rather than curing the virus. So, let’s make our hearts and minds into punching bags, and let the world use us to remove their frustrations. In return, our offense is a smile to calm them. — Satish Daryanani
