In the old days, we had to crank the engine to start the car. Today, cars have a self-start button. Similarly, many of us need outside influences to make ourselves feel happy, peaceful, sad, worry, compassionate, or to show love. We watch or listen to something on YouTube and we get emotional. It can uplift us or get us depressed. All things from outside become our Masters and control our feelings. Let’s each try to become a self-starting emotional machine. Only you should decide for no reason at all whether to be happy or sad, to be floating on air or concerned for the whole universe. Nothing should crank your emotional life. You are your own Master, playing with your own emotions, as you have nothing better to do.— Satish Daryanani
